Personal Styling: A Day in Ocho Rios

Welcome back to another instalment of my styling experience with my mother. This next outfit was created as a more casual / daytime look. Whilst editing what my mum already had we came across an A-line skirt with a beautiful African print on it. The fit and style of the skirt was perfect for my mum and so it managed to stay out of the recycle / donation pile. The main issue was finding a top to go with it. Immediately I had a white, bardot-style top in mind, perfect for the hot weather and, in my opinion, a necessary piece for any summer wardrobe.

I had a good scour online looking at stores such as ASOS, Misguided and H&M to name a few, and was surprised to find the best option was on Boohoo. I have to say I haven’t shopped on this website for several years now and I know that it’s got a bit of a reputation amongst all of the “fast fashion” stores of not producing the best quality clothing. However, if you’re on a budget and need a "trend” piece it should definitely be added to your list of shops to check out. The day we happened to be on the website there was a deal for the next day delivery for £1.50, which was cheaper than the normal delivery so do look out those sorts of discounts. It did indeed arrive the following evening and I have to say I will now ignore most comments about bad quality clothing and say that you need to try for yourself. The piece that came was the perfect fit, a good quality and not flimsy fabric and hopefully something that will last my mum a few more holidays.

So, here is the complete look: I added a pair of simple black gladiator sandals and a black half-moon bag as well as some gold bangles and of course a bold red lip. Again, these pieces can all be worn again: wear the top with a pair of printed palazzo pants; the skirt with a silky black blouse; and the sandals on the beach of course!

I hope you’ve found this a source of inspiration and click the link below to get yourself the Boohoo top, which also comes in black!

Happy Shopping!
