So I realise that I did not pick the right weekend to write this post due to this weird heatwave we're apparently going to have. However on the whole the weather is finally starting to get a bit colder and so now is the perfect time to refresh our coat collections. Here are the key coat trends for this season and some of my favourite finds for each one online.
CHECK

This is one of the biggest trends of this season – not just for coats – and I doubt you’ve been able to walk down a high street without seeing a check coat, a check suit, a check blazer or a check anything! It's in every store, every magazine and so it should be in my wardrobe! I used to have one that I bought in a vintage store years ago but it eventually had to be retired so now is the perfect time to get a new one! FAUX FUR

Now I have to say this is by far at the top of my list of coats to invest in this season. I have never owned a faux fur coat myself but that is soon about to change! I am still undecided as to whether I’m going to get a long coat, like the beautiful one above, or a shorter jacket version of this trend but to help you guys if you’re thinking about getting one yourself, here are some of my favourite ones I’ve found online listed below:

So, I have to say I’m not entirely convinced of this trend. In a rainy country like England I guess a vinyl coat is a good idea but I’m not sure I too keen of the squeaky noises these coats must make with every step. This one might not be making it into my wardrobe this season but don’t let that stop you from trying this look – see some of my finds below:

Fenty x Puma
This trend takes me back to my childhood a bit – I remember having a black puffer jacket when I was in school and thinking I was the coolest thing ever even though it was the definition of “oversized” and I looked more like a marshmallow than anything. But the trend is officially back, perfected by the queen Rihanna and her collaboration with Puma, and so maybe now is the time to do it justice and redeem myself of my earlier attempts! And last but certainly not least the iconic classic trench coat. Now obviously I do have a trench in my collection – but I was young and foolish when I bought it and instead of buying a more classic style I decided to buy something that was trendy at the time and now I wouldn’t be caught dead in it. Now there’s nothing wrong with buying a piece that's more of a “trend” piece – there’s loads out there from red trench coats to leather ones – but that’s something you should only do if you already have a style that won’t fade out and force you to have to buy another one in a few years. So listed below are more classic takes on the trench coat including one from Zara that I’m almost definitely going to try and get my hands on!
